This is a weird way to come back to this blog. Yesterday I made a post to get some more entries in to a drawing for something I really want to win. Today I identify myself as bisexual because I can no longer keep quiet in the face of what is a hate crime and terrorism. (Complete transparency: I believe all mass shootings are acts of terrorism whether or not they're also considered hate crimes.)
So, I am attracted to men and women and am married to a man. That has been to my benefit in that it means I can exist invisibly. Nobody would know who I think is attractive because nobody questions a seemingly heterosexual relationship. But too many of my friends can't hide their sexuality and so I have decided that I can't hide it anymore either. I can't keep my head down any longer and so I lift my head and tell everyone that if you hate people who are LGBTQ, you hate me too.

I Have Become a Crafting Nightmare
Let me tell you about my current crafting obsession and what it means.
So I started out as an extremely casual/inconsistent scrapbooker. I would do a layout, put it away for a couple of years, do another layout. For YEARS. I have a Creative Memories photo album that I have had for about 13 years that's still not complete.
Then I decided to take it a bit more seriously and turned to mini albums. I found my art form. I have stacks of paper, accessories, die cuts (purchased), odds and ends, bit and pieces. I bought a Silhouette and use it a lot. I bought the Sizzix Texture Boutique and loved it. I bought embossing folders and a folder to put my folders in. I love to make and decorate the mini albums and I'm running out of friends and family I can give them to.
I do love the Silhouette Cameo. You can do anything with it. My sister is an artist and she can design things for me that I can put in to the Silhouette and then cut out and use. Amazing!
But always, always I have been interested in the Sizzix Big Shot. All the die options, all the embossing, all the different things you can do. Every tutorial I watched on YouTube would include an adorable die I wanted. I could get something like it for the Silhouette, but not that exact shape. I starte stalking the Big Shot. Visiting it in my local craft shop, watching how-tos on YouTube. So when Scrapbook.com announced the giveaway, I immediately did all the requirements I could to get as many entries as I could. And this is the final one I have any control over. I want one of those things and I want to up my odds. The Big Shot is SO cool and all the pieces included in the giveaway are amazing. I'm already fantasizing about everything I would do with it. The cards, the layouts, the felt shapes. Can I decorate a dress with some applique pieces? Let's find out!
So that's it. This is the first blog post I've done in about 8 years and I did it all for the crafting.
